How it all started...
In 1858 God lead the founding pastor of our church, John W. McHorse, to organize a body of believers to "keep house for the Lord."
Four men and their wives had a vision of establishing a church that would provide spiritual guidance for those who desired to have a relationship with God in His Kingdom and to fellowship with other like believers.
Since that time Pleasant Hill has been housed in three different buildings. The original two buildings no longer exist but parts of them remain as memorabilia. One remaining board has been preserved and is on display at the graveside of John W. McHorse in Austin, TX. Parts of the beam from the second building were preserved and are on display in the foyer of our present church.
in 2008, 150 years after that first church was dedicated, Pleasant Hill again expanded with the construction of the present sanctuary with seating for approximately 180 people. The church also has additional classrooms for Sunday school for all different ages, a fellowship hall with a large cooking area and a dining area big enough to accomodate the entire church at once, as well as our Life Center complete with a full hardwood basketball / volleyball court, and our youth center with foosball, air hockey, a pool table, and a large screen for movie nights! We also have a beautiful new preschool for children two years to five years of age.
God has been good to Pleasant Hill. Our church is blessed with many faithful members who have a great desire to see lost people redeemed and changed by Jesus Christ.
If you are looking for a church home we invite you to come and join us.

Expanding the vision...
We believe children today need the opportunity to learn who Jesus Christ is at an early age. With public schools prohibited from teaching about God and His creation it has become necessary for our churches to take a greater presence in the education of our young.
This driving principle lead to the creation of Fun to Learn preschool. The school provides a safe and fun environment for children to learn in a Christian based curriculum. The preschool is a part of the broader ministry of our church and many of those we reach may never have been exposed to Jesus otherwise.

Where we are headed...
We will continue to preach and teach the gospel message of our Lord and Savior until He returns for the Church. We will continue to transform lives with His love, and make an impact for Christ both here at home and around the world.
Our church may be filled with new technology, but the message of God never changes. He has Mercy and Grace for every sinner who comes to Him with repentance.
We have no desire to judge any person and believe that is only the responsibility of the Holy Spirit and God Himself. We are called to be messengers of where Hope, Grace, and Mercy can be found.
